1) For my 20time project, I am interested in exploring and delving into the wild world of make-up. For those who may not know, I currently coach Colorguard at a local high school. A large part of the activity involves whats known as "show make-up", and while I can easily make a selection of what I want my girls to do for their show, I am lost when it comes to executing it. I myself do not wear make-up, and have never really developed any desire to learn for myself. Until coaching, that is. I now am interested in learning some basic makeup techniques to assist my members, as well as myself. Here are some questions I am currently pondering for this project:
1: What supplies should I acquire? What are the basic essentials?
2: How does contouring work? What is it's purpose? Why do you look like a clown before blending it? (You blend it, right?)
3: What is better: liquid eyeliner or a pencil or those soft pencils? (What are those even called??)
4: What is a reasonably priced brand?
5: What are good colors for different skin tones?
6: What are the different types of brushes? How do you determine what brush to use?
7: How do you fill in eyebrows? Should you fill in eyebrows?
8: How do you determine what is the best type of make-up for different skin types? powders or creams?
9: When applying "show make-up", how much more is necessary to apply for it to be seen?
10: What is a good product to use to remove makeup?
Another idea I am currently playing around with is knitting or crocheting? (I don't know the difference??) A bunch of the women in my family have created afghans, beanies, and scarves, and I am always super jealous. However, I am less interested in this idea however, as to me it seems like it could get boring.
1: What needles (errr, I think they're called hooks?) would I need?
2: What is the proper yarn to use?
3: Would this get expensive?
4: What resources are there to learn about the different yarn, different nots or loops, or whatever they're called?
5: Do you use patterns or what are the equivalents?
6: How long does it take to create a basic beanie?
7: How do you determine what yarn is acceptable for a piece?
8: If you mess up, how easy is it to go back and fix?
9: Is it hard to pick up, or relatively easy?
10: Honestly, does it getting boring?
