So first off, this is a (rough) idea of what I wanted to achieve for the make-up for my Colorguard girls show.. The other coach chose a brighter gold sparkle to use, however, so there are some differences.
Now I know to be better prepared next time, and I will use it as a learning opportunity and go buy foundation that works with my sisters skin tone. Nonetheless, I jumped to applying eyelid primer to her eyes to begin.
I used e.l.f. eyelid primer because its like, .99 cents and lets get real, I am a student teacher who cannot work. However, I have asked other make-up aficionados and they said it was an acceptable product for someone on a budget. Next, I began to apply a light yellow eyeshadow. I started on the inside corner of the eyelid and worked out over the eyelid to the brow bone. (Forgot to take a photo at this point) |
I then slowly added the black shadow starting in the other corner and came across the lid about halfway, per instruction of my teacher. I also have to add that this was only made harder because my teacher forgot to bring the brushes she promised so I was stuck using the default brush that comes with the eyeshadow, which makes it hard to blend well. Or so I am told.. I did my best to blend it together and then added some light gold glitter. | Next step was eyeliner and mascara! I used liquid eyeliner for the first time, and I got it to wing! (I won't mention it was by accident and that I failed to recreate it on the other eye..) |
